If you're like me and travel around a lot it's a struggle to easily transport my make-up and brushes. So I created an easy roll that I can take with me wherever I go, tied with pretty lace and using this fab paisley printed fabric from eBay.

You Will Need:

  • Pattern paper or A3 sheet to create your pattern

  • Cotton fabric (approx a metre)

  • Lace

  • White felt (by the metre)

  • Sewing Machine

  • Sharp Scissors

Step 1: Using a ruler or a pattern master, draw out your paper template. I chose to make mine 20 cm x 40 cm (plus seam allowance)

Step 2: Pin your patter to 3 layers of the fabric and cut. Also cut out the felt layer.

Step 3: Press the first layer in half.

Step 4: Pin the two top layers ad the felt together.

Step 5: Using your own make up brushes measure out how many pockets to create.

Step 6: Pin out where you would like them to be.

Step 7: Sew straight stitches to create the pockets.

Step 8: Measure out two pieces of lace for the ties, using right sides together stitch around, leaving a gap to be able to turn the roll through. Make sure you trim the edges after sewing and turn through, neatly sew up the gap and you're finished.
