Floral Sketch Patchwork Dress

My second challenge for the Craft Cotton Co was to design a dress made out of fat quarters. With a few style ideas in mind I picked out the Floral Sketch print set, a lovely combination of bright blues, greens and grey. I designed a simple design, using a basic bodice block for the top party and rectangles to build up the skirt.

The main challenge with this design was creating the patchwork fabric. Using a rotary cutter and square template I cut different sized squares and rectangles out, sewing these together one by one.
